Our Methodology

How we source contractor data, rank listings, and verify businesses, so you can trust what you see.

Where our data comes from

All contractors listed on RadonFinder.ca hold active C-NRPP (Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program) certification. Our initial dataset was sourced from the public C-NRPP registry and imported in early 2025. We refresh data periodically and contractors can claim and update their own listings at any time. We do not list uncertified contractors. C-NRPP certification is the standard recognized by Health Canada for radon testing and mitigation professionals.

How listings are ranked

Listings are ranked by a profile score from 0 to 100; higher scores appear first. The score is calculated automatically and updates whenever a listing's data changes, so more complete and verified profiles rank higher. On city pages, contractors based in that city are shown first, followed by those who serve it from nearby, each group ordered by score.

Verified listings

Every certified contractor is listed for free, with profiles populated from public C-NRPP data. A listing becomes "Verified" once the owner claims it and our team confirms their C-NRPP certification matches the business, at no cost. Verified listings show a Verified badge, rank higher (verification adds 10 points to the profile score), and can display a logo and photos. Unverified listings are still fully searchable; they simply haven't been confirmed by the owner yet.

Claiming a listing

Contractors can claim their listing from its profile page by confirming their email address. Once confirmed, our team reviews the request to check the C-NRPP number matches the business. Once approved, the listing is marked Verified at no cost and we apply any corrections the owner requested. To update details later, contractors can email us at hello@radonfinder.ca.

Reviews & ratings

We surface each business's Google rating and review count directly on their profile, since that's the rating homeowners rely on most. RadonFinder does not host its own review system, so what you see reflects the business's public Google reputation, not reviews we collect or moderate.

Keeping data current

We encourage contractors to claim and maintain their own listings. If you notice incorrect information (wrong phone number, changed service area, lapsed certification), please contact us at hello@radonfinder.ca or use the "Is this your business?" prompt on any listing page. We aim to process correction requests within 3 business days.
